This Accredited course will provide the learner with the fundamental Knowledge needed to understand the Supply Chain. Learn about Professional Values and Ethics, Understanding the Supply Chain, the influencers in the Supply chain and the Negotiating with Suppliers.
COURSE OVERVIEW
Module 1- Professional Values and Ethics:
Unit standard 335800 – 4 credits
In this module you will learn how to:
- Analyse issues relating to professional and ethical conduct
- Evaluate an ethical code of conduct as it applies to the operational environment
- Apply professional ethics in practical situations
Module 2 – Demonstrate an understanding of the supply chain environment
Unit standard 336713 – 10 credits
In this module you will learn how to:
- Specify the difference between centralised and decentralised procurement
- Analyse the components and application of total cost of ownership (TCO) principles
- Conduct a supply market analysis
- Identify and analyse the process of selecting and evaluating suppliers
Module 3- Evaluate the influences of key components in a supply chain
Unit standard 336709 – 8 credits
In this module you will learn how to:
- Evaluate key influences on a supply chain environment
- Analyse and implement stakeholder relationships within the supply chain
- Obtain and analyse information on the supply chain
- Apply improvements to the supply chain
Module 4 – Negotiate with suppliers
Unit standard 252267 – 12 credits
In this module you will learn how to:
- Describe processes & principles used when negotiating with the suppliers
- Plan to negotiate with the suppliers
- Negotiate with the suppliers
- Review negotiation with the supplier
COURSE APPROVAL
TETA accredited and registered with SAQA. This course forms part of the National Certificate: Supply Chain Management Certificate ID 74149 at Level 5 as the Fundamental Component and contributes a total of 34 credits.
COURSE DELIVERY
The course is delivered through the School of Shipping Learning website and allows you to study at your own pace (recommended duration 8 weeks). You may begin and register any time. A Subject Matter Expert and will provide you with academic support through the learning website and a Course Coordinator will also be available on email and telephone to provide you with administrative support.
ASSESSMENT AND AWARD OF THE CERTIFICATE
You are not required to write any exams as a formative and summative assessment is completed online. You will need to achieve a mark of at least 60% for each assessment to receive the certification. Should you not gain competency on your first attempt one more resubmission will be allowed at no additional cost.
