COURSE OBJECTIVE

The person credited with this unit standard will be able to apply an understanding of basic logistics principles within any freight handling operating environment. They will also be able to describe the functions and relationships of different departments and describe their impact on the business as well as the distribution channel.

The qualifying learner is capable of:

  • Identifying and explain the functions of the different internal departments.
  • Describing the principles of supply and demand.
  • Demonstrating an understanding of the impact of customers on the industry.
