So, what exactly is e-learning?
In basic terms, e-learning refers to a course, programme or degree that is delivered and completed entirely online. When it comes to formal education, most of us have a picture of students sitting in a classroom with an educator who is facilitating the learning process within a specific timeframe. Luckily, with e-learning we are no longer bound by physical classrooms or set timeframes.
E- learning is a system based on formalised teaching but with the help of electronic resources, like computers or cellphones. While teaching can occur in or out of the classrooms, the use of computers and the Internet forms the major component of e-learning.
At School of Shipping we offer Online Courses to help our students study anywhere and at any time, simply by conveniently using our online platform!
How does it work?
- You can request more information from us via the “Need more information” form on our website. We will then send you the course outline and a registration form.
- When you have completed the registration form, an invoice will be sent to you.
- Once this has been paid via EFT or online via our PayGate system and appears on our bank statement, one of our friendly representatives will contact you and supply you with a user name and a password.
- You will also be assigned an online mentor who will guide you should you have any questions.
- You will be required to complete a formative assessment and summative assessment. Once you have completed this, you will be marked online and if you are found to be competent, you will be awarded a certificate.
