Apply for Customs Accreditation
This Unit Standard Accredit Customs Clearing Clients deals with the South African Customs and Excise accreditation process. South African Customs and Excise legislation provides for the conferral of accredited client status on importers and exporters that have a proven record of compliance with Customs and Excise legislation (currently the Customs and Excise Act 91 of 1964) and tax levying Acts and that are capable of complying with accredited client requirements in terms of the current Customs and Excise legislation. The Unit Standard is also aimed at any customs client wishing to apply for accredited client (Preferred Trader) status in future.
This Unit Standard is aimed at all clients who want to become accredited Customs clients, maintain their accreditation status or who simply want to establish a low risk status to benefit from a positive relationship with SARS Customs.
Unit Standard 252268 forms part of SAQA qualification number 59298 which is titled: “Further Education and Training Certificate: Freight Forwarding and Customs Compliance”. It is a NQF-4 qualification worth 5 credits. The last date for achievement of the Unit Standard is 30 June 2022.
Learning outcomes of this unit standard
After studying this learning programme, you should be able to understand the criteria required for accreditation as well as the quality management system. You should also be able to analyse the audit report and address any problem areas. You should also be able to monitor the accreditation criteria and ensure the clearing clients meet these accreditation criteria at all times.
